Why are so many £5000 prizes won by the same person?

Interesting pattern in previous winners:
Big Value Code Breakers Issue 3 : Mr I Fox, Sheffield, Yorkshire
Code Breakers Issue 3 : Mr I Fox, Sheffield, Yorkshire
Arrowwords Issue 3 : Mr I Fox, Sheffield, Yorkshire
Puzzle Selection Issue 3 : Mr I Fox, Sheffield, Yorkshire

Lucky Mr Fox!

Considering these magazines are sold all over the country I reckon there should be more than one prize covering several magazines. The least that could be done is to make a £1000 prize for each magazine. I found this out some time ago, and thus it's put me off buying some magazines because of this. If there was a prize to be won in each individual magazine I would probably buy more.

As it stands, more people seem to prefer the chance of winning a bigger prize than a prefer a slightly improved chance of winning a smaller prize.

It's swings and roundabouts really, whichever way it was set up there would be someone who preferred it the other way!

Hi there, can anyone tell me if there is a list of monthly winners printed anywhere on this website I cant seem to find one. If not how soon after closing date are winners notified?

Thanks
Tracy

I'd be happy just to win something.

I won this competition 20 years ago, and although I have entered the competitions each month over the past 20 years, I have won nothing since! But I still keep trying!

I always buy the Daily Mail on Sunday to do their 1-12 number Sudoku, instead of the usual 1-9 numbers. What do others think? Wouldn't it be great to have these included in the Sudoku mag as well as maybe a page of them in others?

The £5000 competition is run in conjunction with other puzzle titles so even though Mr Fox's name appears in all the participating magazines he is the winner of one £5000 competition. Our terms and conditions in the magazines clearly state that the £5000 competition is run across a few of our titles. I hope this clarifies your question but do enter future competitions as next time it could be lucky you!

Surely each magazine sells from Scotland, Wales and England. I know wherever I've been in the country I can buy all magazines. £5000 to be the prize for all magazines is ridiculous. That's not being fair to us all who buy each and every monthly magazine going.
