Su-doku Tips

I really enjoy su-dokus, but I sometimes get stuck on the more difficult puzzles. Does anybody have any good tips that could help me improve my solving?

Hmmm, I'm not really very good at them, I prefer the wordy puzzles, but if I'm ever bored on the bus or something and there's a paper about, I'll have a go. I usually see what numbers occur most at the start and eliminate those ones first. Not much help I'm afraid, I'm sure someone else will have better ideas.

I'm not brill at these puzzles either but the following method has helped me; I start with the number 1 and work out which block it goes in. If it doesn't I do the same with number 2 and so on. There is always at least one number that will only fit into one block. Then I start the whole process again. Takes me ages..... :-(
