Subscription failed

My wife had a Christmas present of a year's subscription to Sudoku Selection magazine. She is annoyed that I can buy the new one each month before her subscription one arrives. Why is this? The beauty of having a subscription is getting it early. The reduced price is merely a bonus. When the subscription runs out we had intended to re-join but we have had so much trouble with this year (a previous month's was filled with the wrong puzzles and now the easiest puzzles are the 3 clocks and the two clocks are the hardest) it is doubtful that we will.

Also why is there no way we can talk to someone about it??
